Xiamen city, known as the "Garden on the Sea," with its surrounding countryside, offers spectacular scenery and pleasant tree-lined beaches. Xiamen has numerous natural and cultural wonders. The Botanical Garden, in particular, is a nature lover's paradise and the Buddhist Nanputao Temple, dating back to the Tang Dynasty (618- 907), is a national treasure. Southwest of Xiamen is Gulangyu Island, also known as Piano Island, which is a popular and peaceful weekend getaway. Fujian, with its year round warm climate and array of natural and cultural sites, makes for the perfect holiday getaway.

Lugu Lake is one of the most beautiful lakes in China and the biggest lake in Sichuan. It is famous for its amazing lake views and exotic ethnic traditions. It locates by the bordering area with Yunnan Province. Traditional people living around the lake are mainly an ethnic group called Mosuo, which is one of the most unique groups in China due to their matriarchy system. Among their traditions they have, the most interesting one is called “Walking Marriage”. Lugu Lake has a mixing culture of Mosuo, Tibetans and Mongolians.
